Hornet? Wasp? Yellow Jacket?

What's the difference? They are all mean. My baby got his first sting(s) today. 3 or 4, we are not sure. Daddy, Parker and Grandpa O went to the park today and when they were getting ready to leave one of the evil things landed on Parker's neck. Before daddy could say anything Parkie grabbed at it and it stung him and got inside his shirt and got him a few more times.
Daddy said that hardly any tears were shed, nothing a McDonald's Happy Meal couldn't fix.

Farmer's Market, Ikea & Park!

We headed down to the Farmer's Marker with Dawn & Alex today. The boys ran around most of the time and waved at cars. After the Farmer's Market we went to IKEA and the boys played in the play area while us mommy's shopped. After IKEA we headed to a park in Edina and had a picnic lunch. We found a nice shaded area under a tree and it was so chilly that Parker complained the whole time. First he had to sit in my lap to keep warm, then he decided to sit in the sun. Is it July?
After lunch the boys went exploring.
And...more exploring.

After the exploring was over they played at the playground for a little while.

Otsego Park

We will be closing on our new house in Otsego in 5 days so we headed to Otsego Park to spend some time getting to know our new neighborhood. Daddy and Parker had already been here so they really wanted to show me around. They have awesome play equipment.
It's right on the Mississippi River....
and there are tons of trails and fun areas to explore.
We love it!

Volcano's and Bohannon Park

2 new things today!! Parker and Alex made "volcano's" with vinegar and baking soda, they even got creative and added food coloring. Glad Dawn doesn't mind messes in her kitchen!!! Good thing baking soda and vinegar are cheap, they went through a lot of it!!
Then we went to Bohannon Park. Parker would always say this was his favorite park every time we would drive by it....but we had never even been there until today.
It was HOT! The boys had a ton of fun and played on the playground equipment too.

Happy 4th Birthday my little baby!

We took Parker and Lee to Space Aliens for his birthday today. He loved it there!
He loved to play the games and ride the rides, but most of all he loved.....
The GIANT Alien!!! Some kids were crying and screaming...not this kid, check him out holding the aliens hand!
After Space Aliens we went to Grandma & Grandpa C's house for cake and presents. Auntie Maureen, Lee, Auntie Candi, Uncle Brian, Paige and Grandma & Grandpa were there.
He got a real tool box, some GI Joes, Geo Trax, Star Wars Gun, Lightening McQueen and Frank Tractor set, construction helmet, some books and lots of money!
He had a Pirate cake

Thanks everyone, Parker had a wonderful time.

Rocker Dude

This kid is such a rocker. Rockin out to Soundgarden at 3 years old. He is soooo ahead of his time. This is the stuff he begs us to listen too. Good thing he has such cool parents!

* And yes, I know it is the day before his 4th birthday, but he is still 3 years old....

Happy 4th of July/Birthday!

We celebrated Parker's birthday today with his Grandma & Grandpa O. Since we haven't found a house to move into yet we aren't really having an official birthday party for him. Kinda worked out better because he gets two small parties, two cakes, two special days. It is also the 4th of July. Parks decided to start off with a little pool time.....
After that it was time for presents. Someone decided it would be a good idea to give this boy a jar of change. He loved it! However, he is not the best at cleaning it up.
The theme of the day was Pirates. Parks is way into Pirates these days, he sings about them and walks around with a sword telling everyone to "walk the plank" or "I'll throw you into the 7 seas".
He got some cool cars and some Lego's too.
Trick candles on the birthday cake. Not sure he quite understood...he just kept blowing them out.
He had a great time celebrating his birthday!
Later in the early evening we decided to do a few fireworks, sparklers, smoke bombs, and those snappy things you throw on the ground. This was the first year we did fireworks with Parks and he really liked it.

We went back out again after dark and did some more and stood at the end of Grandma & Grandpa C's driveway while daddy lit off some cool ones. We could also see some big professional fireworks off in the distance.

Hanover Elementary School

We went to the park at my old elementary school today. It's so peaceful out there and the boys (Parker & daddy) had lots of fun. I got a wood tick which negates all fun if you ask me.

We ended up going to this park the next night as well, and guess what? I got another wood tick. I vowed never to go back.
*I have been away from the computer for over a month, so I will slowly be catching up on the blog.
