Amy

Parker's speech therapist came over today. I am kind of sad because next week will be her last week with Parker and he has been seeing her since October. They play games and play with toys and in the process she gets him to talk. He loves her, one day he even leaned in and kissed her. He looks out the window every time she's coming and waits for her and runs to the door to greet her. He qualified for "Part B" of the speech program so he will have 5 sessions over the summer (with a new therapist) and next year instead of going to regular preschool he will go to the same school in a class that focuses on speech. In order to qualify for this he had to have a series of tests done. We were happy to find out that his level of understanding is that of a 5 and 1/2 year old. His speech is getting better but he is still a little behind.

Big Boy Bed

Our house is back to normal! We got Parker's "new" room set up. He LOVES this bed!! Today he was begging to take a nap, even before nap time. Grandma Jenny & Grandpa Duane were here for 5 hours to help Matt put our toilet and sink back in and Parker was running between them saying "night Nana", "night Papa". So, we put him down for his nap a few minutes early and over 2 hours later we woke him up. He said he didn't want to get up so we left him in bed a little longer. Tonight will be his first full night in his new bed, hopefully he will do ok. For the past 4 nights we all had to sleep in the basement while the floors were being done. We all slept on mattresses on the floor and we thought for sure Parker would get up after we put him to bed and play with toys since we were sleeping in his playroom....but no, our little boy stayed in bed and went right to sleep. He is such a good boy. I guess keeping him on a good sleeping schedule and sticking by our routine is really paying off! Some people thought we were a little crazy at how diligent we were about making sure he got his naps and got to bed on time!!!

Alex's House

Today our floors are being done and luckily our friend's Dawn and Alex invited us over to play and have lunch. Parker and Alex played pretty good all day. First we played outside.... Then after lunch the boys played in the sandbox....
Then, they played with marbles and a cool ramp. I could tell that Parker was getting pretty tired so we came home and I put him down for a nap.

Bye Bye Crib

We are getting our hardwood floors refinished tomorrow and we had to take apart Parker's crib to get it out of his room. We decided this would be a good time to get him a "Big Boy Bed" so when we are able to move back into the upstairs of our house in a few days he will have a new bed set up. Until then we are "camping out" in the basement and sleeping on mattresses on the floor. Hope the next few days go well.....

Happy Birthday Ivy!

Today we went to a birthday party at Ivy's house. Parker was so excited to play with different toys. Ivy has a cool sand/water table that kept the kids entertained for quite some time. This might be something Parker needs.....Here he is playing with Alex and Ivy.Ivy also has a cool t-ball set, again something Parker might need, I got lots of birthday ideas for Parker at Ivy's house!
After lunch and presents the kids ate cupcakes. Ivy is the one with the bright pink shirt.
Here is Parker with a mouth full of cupcake, he demolished his cupcake, notice that the little girl Grace next to him hasn't even started hers and Parker is half done with his!!

Last day of ECFE

Today was the last day of our ECFE class. This is a picture of his 3 teachers and his class. Try getting 12 2-3 year olds to sit still all at once! ECFE was fun, we only did it for this school year, but I really wish we would have known about it when he was younger.

Finally!

It's finally nice enough to start going to parks and playing outside again! Parker is so happy. He walks around saying "outside? outside? outside?" He and I played outside for over an hour today and then after dinner Matt took Parker and Phoebe to the park by the community center. When they got home Parker was still begging to go outside!

Mother's Day

Today we did our annual Mother's Day thing, which for the last 2 years now has been at my cousin Gayle's house. We go there for brunch. Grandma Jenny and Great Grandma Marie were there, along with many cousins and second cousins. Auntie Candi and baby Paige were there and Parker kept kissing baby Paige and hugging her and playing with her, he even got mad when other people tried to touch her! After dinner we went to Grandma Arbye's house to wish her a Happy Mother's Day too. Parker brought is infamous FrankenParks to a whole new level. He ran around there like a maniac as he usually does!
